Mississauga market update: a suburb built around several downtowns
Doorvia Research · September 2, 2026

Square One, Port Credit, Streetsville and Erin Mills each behave like their own market inside Mississauga.
Mississauga has grown into a city of nodes rather than a single downtown. The Square One area is dense and condo-driven, Port Credit and Clarkson trade on lakefront and GO access, Streetsville keeps a village character, and Erin Mills and Meadowvale are family subdivisions built in distinct decades.
That structure matters when you compare prices. A condo beside Square One competes with hundreds of similar suites and a steady pipeline of new towers. A detached home in Lorne Park or Mineola competes with almost nothing, because lot supply there is fixed.
When you shortlist, filter by the node first and the price second. Check GO train walking distance, the age of the subdivision, and whether the home has been updated since the original build. In Mississauga, the year a neighbourhood was built is often the best predictor of layout, ceiling height and lot width.
