Richmond Hill market update: a mid-York Region balance
Doorvia Research · July 25, 2026

Richmond Hill sits between Toronto and the northern GTA, with a mix of large family homes and growing condo supply.
Richmond Hill draws buyers who want York Region schools and space but a shorter drive than Newmarket or Aurora. Its housing stock ranges from older Yonge Street corridor homes to large 2000s subdivisions in Oak Ridges and Jefferson.
Condo and townhome development has concentrated along Yonge Street and near the Langstaff and Richmond Hill Centre areas, where future transit plans keep buyer attention high.
Two practical points: the Oak Ridges Moraine constrains development in the north, which supports values there, and older Yonge corridor properties sometimes carry redevelopment potential worth checking against current zoning.
